Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced English Teacher to develop and deliver high-quality lessons, maintaining and building on our academic success.

This is a full-time, ongoing teaching position in a supportive environment that encourages collaboration and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibility will be teaching English VCE and 7-10, helping students develop a passion for the subject while enhancing their reading and writing skills.

As the English teacher, you must have a deep understanding of current research-based pedagogies and a proven ability to apply them to the English curriculum.

You will design a rigorous and robust curriculum that incorporates cognitive load theory, explicit instruction, and the Science of Learning.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Appropriate qualification and current registration as a teacher,
  • A passion for teaching English in years 7-12, with a proven ability to write and deliver an outstanding English curriculum,
  • Understand current research-based pedagogies and have a proven ability to apply them to an English curriculum,
  • Demonstrated effective delivery of teaching and learning programs,
  • A commitment to professional development,
  • Excellent personal communication, administrative and organisational skills,
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and child safety, demonstrating an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children, including children with diverse needs and backgrounds,
  • Strong skills in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT), especially as they relate to teaching and learning,
  • Commitment to co-curricular activities.
