About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to join our Data team at Coates Group. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership to ensure the successful delivery of project work within the software development team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on technical aspects of projects, making critical decisions regarding technology stacks, application architecture, and design patterns.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and other Tech Leads to ensure application designs are cohesive and consider the application architecture holistically across the full stack.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices, ensuring that code reviews are conducted and the codebase adheres to quality benchmarks.
  • Mentor and support team members, helping them grow their technical skills and advance their careers.
  • Work with Technical Business Analysts and stakeholders to understand project requirements and define appropriate technical solutions.
  • Ensure accuracy of estimates at a story level, assisting Technical BAs in defining a confident plan with technical milestones and timelines.
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, communicating effectively with team members, management, and external partners.
  • Identify potential technical risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Advocate for and implement improvements in processes, tools, and practices, staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in a Technical Leadership role.
  • 3+ years' experience as a full stack engineer.
  • 3+ years' experience in successfully leading and developing a high performing team.
  • Lead and influence technical problem solving and solution design.
  • Distinguished web development skills across multiple technologies.
  • Knowledge of frameworks and design patterns.
  • Experience with multiple databases, including MySQL.
  • Experience in management, deployments, and scaling of cloud-based services.
  • Experience using software development tools such as Jira, GitLab/GitHub.
