About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at FourQuarters Recruitment. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the Commercial Team with analytical, reporting, and business advisory matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Financial Analysis
    • Develop a deep understanding of the business, including processes, systems, customers, products, and key drivers of success.
    • Provide regular updates to the Finance Manager on significant findings and recommendations for continued improvements within the business.
    • Perform 'what if' analysis on ad hoc financial and commercial projects.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a sound financial reporting process.
    • Perform monthly analytics on margin and follow up with branches to resolve any anomalies.
  • Financial Accounting and Reporting Support
    • Support the timely provision of monthly and annual operating financial results and statistics, and forecasts against budget and objectives.
    • Support the timely and accurate financials for the sites, including accuracy and completeness of the General Ledger, Reconciliations, Intercompany Accounting, Standing Journals, and KPI reporting.
    • Support the preparation of forecasts, budgets, and capital reporting.
    • Support the drive for improvements/efficiencies in the month-end processes and accuracy.
  • Capital Project Management
    • Support the business in generating capital requests.
    • Assist in cost/savings analysis of capital projects prior to submission.
    • Assist in monthly spend reviews of capital projects.
    • Assist in maintaining the fixed asset register in a timely manner.
    • Assist in preparation of monthly reporting and forecasting of capital expenditure.
    • Perform post-audits of all completed capital projects.
  • Business Support
    • Build positive, productive working relationships internally and externally.
    • Ensure there are vigorous controls around pricing changes, both ad hoc and annual, for contracted and non-contracted customers.
    • Collaborate with Central Procurement in understanding products and pricing implications.
    • Assist business where required with vendor setup and purchase orders and Winmagi support when required.
    • Assist on Value Plus initiatives, such as reviewing customer profitability.
    Requirements
    • Tertiary qualification in a commercial stream (i.e. Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business).
    • Postgraduate qualification of either CPA or CA or currently pursuing.
    • Minimum 3+ years accounting experience, ideally in a commercial business environment.
    • Experience in SAP or any other ERP system.
    • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Excel.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
    • High attention to detail, excellent time management, and result-driven.
    • Team player attitude.
