About the Role

The Therapeutic Child and Family Advocate plays a pivotal role in our team, delivering specialist therapeutic interventions to children, young people, and families affected by trauma.

This demanding yet rewarding position requires exceptional skill and experience in providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing tailored therapeutic programs for children and families.
  • Applying a range of interventions tailored to the developmental needs of children to support their emotional understanding and regulation.
  • Planning and facilitating therapeutic group programs and workshops for children and families.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with therapeutic models of practice.
  • In-depth knowledge of trauma-informed practice as it relates to child development and adverse childhood experiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the neurobiological, social, emotional, and developmental impacts of trauma.
