About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Art Gallery Support Specialist to join our team at the City of Ipswich.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and creative environment, providing exceptional customer service to gallery visitors and supporting the delivery of gallery operations, services, and programming.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to gallery staff and services, including visitor engagement, front-of-house administration, programs, and events.
  • Supervise public gallery spaces, engaging with visitors, providing information, and assisting with exhibits.
  • Assist with the implementation of gallery functions and events.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant experience and/or education/training in art history and/or visual arts or arts education.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service, preferably in a cultural facility.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including children.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary professional team within a leading cultural facility.
  • Working with Children Check – Issue of Blue Card and Positive Notice Letter (issued by the Queensland Government) or Exemption Card.
