We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to lead and support procurement activities across large-scale, high-value government programs and services.
About the Role
As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering expert procurement consultancy and advisory services, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Your role will contribute directly to effective government service delivery through strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate complex procurement processes, including acquisition planning, tender development, evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.
- Provide strategic and operational procurement advice to internal stakeholders.
- Deliver value-for-money outcomes by applying sound procurement principles and risk management strategies.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of procurement frameworks, policies, and systems.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and other government agencies.
- Ensure accurate records and compliance with statutory obligations under the State Records Act 1997.
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of end-to-end procurement and contract management processes within a government or similar environment.
- A strong understanding of procurement legislation, audit requirements, and financial principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in preparing complex procurement documentation and reports.
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and negotiate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Experience fostering collaboration and continuous improvement within a procurement function.
- High-level problem-solving skills and the ability to influence decision-making.
