Cost Control Specialist

A detail-oriented Senior Cost Analyst is sought to join a technology business servicing the energy sector. This temporary role focuses on cost control and financial analysis to support project success in Perth.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain cost control systems to monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring timely identification of variances and accurate tracking of costs.
  • Prepare detailed cost forecasts and financial reports for ongoing projects, providing stakeholders with valuable insights into project progress and potential risks.
  • Analyse variances between actual and planned costs, identifying key trends and issues that impact project success.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting, facilitating informed decision-making and effective project management.
  • Support the preparation of tender submissions and project cost estimates, leveraging expertise in cost engineering practices and methodologies.
  • Provide financial insights to stakeholders for informed decision-making, highlighting opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies, maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and governance.
  • Continuously improve cost engineering practices and methodologies, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements

A successful candidate will possess:

  • A degree in accounting, finance, engineering, or a related field.
  • CA or CPA Qualification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in cost management software and financial modelling.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting, with the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and project teams, conveying complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
