Job Title: Diploma Childcare Educator

About Our Centre:

  • We are a family-owned childcare business with multiple centres in Sydney's West.

We pride ourselves on providing high-quality education and care for children, forming strong relationships with families.

This role is seeking a diploma qualified educator to work as second in charge (working towards room leader) who understands the importance of our vision and philosophy to enable children to experience play-based learning that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Framework.

The successful applicant will help provide high-quality educational programs, be dedicated, passionate and have great work ethic. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to form meaningful relationships with families, children and other educators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and set up engaging learning environments;
  • Daily and weekly planning and objectives;
  • Evaluate programming and make improvements;
  • Regular observations of children and following up with engaging experiences;
  • Completing the daily room book and contributing to the centre's quality improvement plan;
  • Maintaining a high level of health and safety standards;
  • Assisting with food preparation as needed;
  • Mentoring other educators such as trainees;
  • Adding to the centre's QIP.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A qualification in Early Childhood Education;
  • Diploma or working towards (ACECQA Approved);
  • Child Protection Training;
  • Working with Children Check;
  • PREFERRED: Understanding of the National Quality Framework, Early childhood Education and Care Laws and Regulations, and the New Assessment and Rating Process;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation skills;
  • Comprehensive understanding of the planning cycle, observation techniques, and making essential links to children's learning outcomes;
  • A commitment to best practice and ongoing professional development;
  • Demonstrated initiative and decision-making abilities;
  • Ability to time-manage and meet deadlines.

About the Role: This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday with shifts varying from 6:45am-6:15pm.
