Senior Data Architect Job Description

As a Senior Data Architect, you will play a key role in designing and implementing end-to-end data architectures that meet enterprise-grade standards for data governance, security, lineage, and cataloguing.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a similar role and a proven track record of designing and implementing successful data platforms using open source tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing data architectures that meet enterprise-grade standards for data governance, security, lineage, and cataloguing.
  • Providing architectural guidance during development to ensure code quality and architectural integrity.
  • Conducting reviews of system and data designs to contribute to the platform's scalability and maintainability.
  • Staying current with modern data technologies, tools, and best practices to guide the platform's evolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in designing enterprise data platforms using open source tools preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies for both private cloud and public cloud (AWS preferred), including storage, compute, and data processing services.
  • Proficient in data modelling (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) and big data architectures (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Delta Lake).
  • Experience implementing data governance, cataloguing, and security best practices.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex designs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
