Government Engagement and Policy Advocate

We're seeking an experienced Government Engagement Manager to join our Public Affairs team in Australia. This role presents a unique opportunity to shape healthcare policies and advocate for the needs of patients and society.
The JobAs a key member of our Public Affairs team, you'll develop and execute strategies to enhance our engagement with government stakeholders. Your primary goal will be to advocate for policies that support our objectives and benefit patients at large.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and implementing a comprehensive government engagement strategy aligned with our public affairs objectives.
- Advocating for policies that support our business goals, particularly in diabetes, obesity, and chronic disease management.
- Monitoring and analysing relevant legislation and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and threats to our interests.
- Preparing and presenting reports on government engagement outcomes for senior management and creating communication materials to support advocacy efforts.
- Planning and coordinating events to engage government stakeholders, representing us at industry events, and meeting with officials to advocate for our policy objectives.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in government engagement, public affairs, or policy advocacy, preferably within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
- Demonstrated experience working with government officials, preferably having worked with a Minister or Member of Parliament at the state or federal level.
- Status as an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
We provide a dynamic work environment, opportunities for professional growth, and a competitive salary package. Based on market standards, we estimate the salary for this position to be around $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on your location and experience.
