About the OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced researcher to join our team at the University of Tasmania as a Pasture Feedbase Research Fellow. This is a fixed-term position based in Burnie, Tasmania.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality research in pasture feedbase and related fields, with a focus on advancing our understanding of sustainable and profitable livestock production systems.
- Lead a program of research that aligns with the University's strategic objectives and contributes to the development of the Tasmanian agricultural industry.
- Provide academic leadership and supervision to PhD students, fostering their research and professional development.
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders, including farmers, researchers, and policymakers, to translate research findings into practical solutions.
- Develop and maintain productive links with the University and the broader research community, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in pasture feedbase and related fields.
- PhD in a relevant field, such as agricultural science, animal science, or a related discipline.
- Strong research portfolio, with a demonstrated ability to lead and manage research projects.
- Sound knowledge of and experience with pasture-based ruminant livestock production systems.
- Experience in designing and implementing research projects, with a focus on industry engagement and knowledge translation.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising research higher degree students.
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B or C, with a total remuneration package of up to $129,861 to $178,024, including 17% superannuation.
