Lead Teacher Plumbing

The Lead Teacher Plumbing is a key position within the Plumbing Department at Melbourne Polytechnic. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the plumbing programs, ensuring that classes run efficiently and compliance requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, develop, deliver, and assess as a teacher within the Plumbing Department.
- Develop, maintain, and evaluate student learning programs, projects, and associated materials.
- Establish and maintain a learning environment that empowers and encourages students to take personal responsibility.
- Communicate and cooperate with colleagues in team teaching and other situations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of quality assurance processes.
- Assist in securing and managing work placement or vocational experience components.
- Participate in classes, programs, staff meetings, and ongoing curriculum development.
- Contact learners to discuss absence and support their return to the classroom.
- Develop teaching resources and assessments that meet curriculum and contract requirements.
- Plumbing qualifications (degree, diploma, or certificate) and minimum 5 years industry experience.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
- Demonstrated ability to teach Certificate II, Certificate III, and Certificate IV Plumbing courses.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage a team of staff.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Well-developed skills in teaching, including the ability to select and use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies.
