About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Pre-Registration Pharmacist to join our team at Calvary Mater Newcastle. As a Pre-Registration Pharmacist, you will have the opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a supportive environment, working alongside experienced professionals in the pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist registered pharmacists in ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of medications.
  • Participate in ward pharmacy services, including participation in rounds and dispensing of non-imprest items on an individual patient basis under supervision of a registered pharmacist.
  • Assist with the dispensing of inpatient, outpatient, discharge, Emergency and staff prescriptions in accordance with the policies of the department and the hospital and under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
  • Ensure that all prescriptions are written in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Assist with the provision of medication counselling to patients/carers and staff.
  • Assist with the supply of ward requisitions.
Requirements
  • Obtain a Bachelor of Pharmacy/Master of Pharmacy (or equivalent) by commencement of employment.
  • Eligible for registration with AHPRA as a Provisional Pharmacist prior to commencing employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
