We are currently looking for experienced Underground HD Fitters to join our team in Canada. As a mentor and role model, you will play a key role in developing the skills of local tradespeople and promoting a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on mobile equipment according to procedures and service sheets.
- Mentor national trades personnel, sharing your expertise and experience.
- Minimize downtime on machinery through your skills and expertise.
- Ensure accurate maintenance records and reporting.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workshop and working areas.
- Read and interpret service and spare parts manuals.
- Report equipment faults to the Maintenance Foreman for scheduling.
Requirements:
- Strong commitment to safety and proactive attitude towards ensuring a safe work environment.
- Experience in training less qualified tradespeople in a high-productivity underground mining environment.
- Proven expertise in working with SANDVIK, CAT, and Atlas underground mobile equipment, as well as associated automation systems.
- At least 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience in the underground mining industry on large mobile equipment.
- High level of knowledge and skill in troubleshooting electric hydraulic drilling equipment.
- Good knowledge of loader and truck maintenance.
- Competency in Auto Electrics, Hydraulic Circuit Schematics, and Diesel engine maintenance.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and a self-starting attitude.
- Excellent service and maintenance approach to the job.
- International Driver's License.
