Expert Computer Vision Specialist

Nearmap is seeking a skilled computer vision expert to join our growing AI and computer vision group. This role will contribute to the development and optimization of production-grade computer vision software, supporting core capabilities across 3D reconstruction, image processing, and photogrammetry.
You will be part of a high-calibre technical team, working on complex spatial problems that directly impact how industries make decisions at scale. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborate with experienced domain experts, and grow your skills in computer vision and AI.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain robust computer vision software using modern C++.
- Design and maintain testing frameworks for code quality and system performance.
- Contribute to technical documentation, QA metrics, and development best practices.
- Participate in feature design, roadmap planning, and sprint prioritization.
- Collaborate with teams across capture systems and global content operations.
- 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering, ideally with exposure to computer vision.
- Proficient in modern C++ , with a strong grasp of object-oriented principles.
- Experience with OpenCV , OpenGL , or Qt framework .
- Familiar with image enhancement, segmentation, or geometric computer vision techniques.
- Strong attention to detail, clear communicator, and comfortable in a collaborative, agile environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn and contribute.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a software focus.
