We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Workforce Planner, supporting our team in delivering and maintaining securable and scalable ICT infrastructure and services.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for conducting workforce supply analysis, identifying underutilized or overstretched resources, and skill gaps. They will develop and maintain a branch-level workforce demand plan, forecasting resourcing needs for upcoming and in-flight ICT projects across the Technology Operations & Support Branch.
Additionally, they will develop and maintain a program-level workforce skills and capability matrix, mapping the current branch workforce against required capabilities to inform hiring and training priorities. They will also develop and maintain a program-level workforce allocation schedule, mapping resources to specific projects, phases, and timeframes, highlighting resourcing conflicts, overlaps, and under/overcapacity periods.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Workforce Optimisation: Strategically plan and manage the workplace environment to support workforce productivity and efficiency, and support cultural change.
- Workforce and Organisational Strategy Formulation: Develop workforce plans and programs in support of organisational strategies.
- Workforce Analysis & Insights: Manage complex data analyses and workforce research/experiments, aligning requirements to organisational needs to draw and present relevant business insights to address organisational risks and needs.
- Strategic Workforce Planning: Build the workforce planning function in the organisation, developing the organisation's workforce planning capability, and driving workforce strategies within the organisation.
- Occupational/Job Segmentation: Identify critical objectives to inform workforce planning by identifying and addressing high risks/gaps in future vs. current roles, contributing expert knowledge across the organisation in relation to occupational segmentation.
The successful candidate will have opportunities to work on various projects, collaborate with a talented team, and develop their skills and expertise in workforce planning. They will also be eligible for a referral incentive program, where they can receive $1000 for each successful referral after the successful selection and joining of the referred candidates.
About the TeamThe Technology Operations and Support Branch plays a critical role in enabling the Department's digital capabilities by delivering and maintaining securable and scalable ICT infrastructure and services. The Branch supports the successful delivery of major programs and projects across the Department and its portfolio agencies, including critical systems at seaports and airports, management and operating of the Australian Secret Network (ASN), Customs Secret Network (CSN), and Departmental end-user platforms.
