Avionics Software and Network Engineer Opportunity

This role provides support to ongoing engineering design activities requiring a Design Engineer, up to and including CVE certification, for the classification of design, certification program plan development, design development, review and compliance assurance for the current and future avionics and software modifications to the CH-47F fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Information handling; registration, review of applicability, Safety Alert Information and actions.
  • Certification Program Plan Development: Create and review certification plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Design Development: Develop and review design specifications, ensuring they meet certification requirements.
  • Avionics Technical Content: Create and review avionics technical content, including system safety analysis and modification development.
  • Peer Review: Conduct peer reviews of avionics technical content to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • System Safety Analysis: Perform system safety analysis to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Modification Development and Review: Develop and review modifications to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Deviation Development and Review: Develop and review deviations from design specifications.
  • Audit and Test Planning: Develop functional and physical configuration audits, acceptance test and evaluation plans.
  • Publication Changes: Draft and technically approve publication changes.
  • Logistics Support: Develop, review and approve support logistics processes.

Essential Criteria:

  • Engineering Qualification: Hold an appropriate engineering qualification.
  • Discipline Experience: Have relevant experience in the discipline/qualification.
  • Software and Network Integration: Possess software and network integration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Compliance Verification Engineer: Hold a Compliance Verification Engineer qualification.
  • Aircraft Systems Knowledge: Have knowledge of aircraft systems.
  • Courses and Training: Have completed DASR Part M, Part 21J and Military Type Certificate Holder Obligations courses.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Aircraft Health Monitoring Systems: Experience with aircraft health and usage monitoring systems.
  • Aircraft Mission Planning Software: Knowledge of aircraft mission planning software.
  • CH-47F Chinook Aircraft: Experience with the CH-47F Chinook aircraft.
  • Software Acceptance and Certification: Knowledge of software acceptance and certification processes.
  • Procedure Development: Experience in developing procedures documenting engineering functions.
  • Project Task Management: Skills in project task management.
  • Acceptance Test Planning: Knowledge of acceptance test planning and conduct.
  • System Diagnostics: Experience in ad-hoc system diagnostics and investigation.
  • Emerald2 Exposure: Familiarity with Emerald2 exposure and experience.
