About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced academic to join our team as a Lecturer in Spanish Studies. This is a fixed-term, full-time opportunity available for two years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Spanish language and culture, including contemporary Spanish culture and literature.
  • Develop and lead the Spanish studies program within the department, with a focus on curriculum development, student engagement, and administration.
  • Contribute to the School's culture of teaching and research, and participate in departmental initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders to achieve departmental goals.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Master's degree or higher qualification in Romance Languages with postgraduate studies in Spanish culture and/or literature.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Proven expertise in teaching Spanish as a foreign language (Levels A1-B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEFR) and a demonstrated ability to teach contemporary Spanish culture and literature courses in a tertiary setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously and constructively with colleagues and key stakeholders.
