About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Worker to join our team in the Lower North Shore area. As a Home Care Worker, you will provide personal care, domestic assistance, and social support to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Domestic Assistance: Cleaning the home of older people to ensure they have a safe and beautiful living space (Maximum of 2 hours of DA work per shift)
  • Assist with meal preparation and shopping
  • Provide social support and transport to lifestyle activities
  • Personal care, including getting customers up, showered, and dressed for the day, medication management, and assisting with mobility and therapy goals
  • Respite and emotional support
  • Social support and transport to appointments
  • Complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia

Requirements
  • Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support, Disability, or Nursing
  • Experience of 6 months or more in a similar role, including experience with personal care, manual handling, hoist training, and medications
  • Additional Immunisations: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (whooping cough), Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (chickenpox), TB (only for candidates from countries with a high incidence of Tuberculosis or residing for 3 months or longer in a country with a high incidence of Tuberculosis), Influenza, COVID-19
  • A current P1 class or above Australian Drivers License and a registered vehicle – travel is part of the role
  • You must be available to work at least 3 days – Monday to Friday
  • You should be comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your Manager for help
