We are seeking recent graduates who are passionate about broadcast and digital journalism to join our 12-month Cadetship program. As a News Cadet, you will have the opportunity to work across various platforms, including TV, radio, and online, and gain hands-on experience in researching, producing, and reporting for SBS News and Current Affairs.
Our highly regarded News and Current Affairs division is dedicated to producing trusted, meaningful, and engaging content that reflects the diversity of Australia. As a Cadet, you will be exposed to a wide range of experiences, including working with our Sydney-based teams and undertaking placements in our Canberra and Melbourne bureaus.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to SBS News and Current Affairs programs and website through researching, producing, and reporting.
- Work closely with our experienced journalists and producers to develop your skills and knowledge.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your career prospects.
- Contribute to the creation of engaging and informative content that reflects the diversity of Australia.
Requirements:
- Completed tertiary qualifications in Journalism or a related field.
- Experience in television, radio, and/or online reporting or production.
- Strong knowledge of national and international affairs.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
