Job Title

Billing Clerk Role Overview

This is a billing and collections support role that offers exciting opportunities for a reliable and self-motivated individual to provide billing and collections support to several private hospitals across North Queensland.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Liaise with Health Funds and Customers
  • Handling account queries
  • Follow up on unpaid accounts (debt collection)
  • Maintain the Aged Trial Balance to required KPIs
  • Generation and submission of accounts to patients, health funds and third party payers
  • Interpret health fund contracts

About You:

This position is suited to an individual with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, strong customer focus, and excellent communication skills. To be successful in this role, you will also have the following criteria:

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • Strong work ethics and reliable worker
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to complete tasks within designated timeframes and meet KPI targets
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Intermediate Computer literacy in Microsoft Excel

Desirable:

  • Accounts Receivable knowledge
  • Experience in hospital mainframe systems
  • Relevant health services experience
  • Knowledge of Health fund contracts and accounting processes
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles
  • Certificate in Medical Terminology

Requirements:

Everyone who joins must be vaccinated against Covid-19 and provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months. According to the role, may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
