About This Role

We are seeking a skilled and creative Prop Maker/Set Designer to join our team based in Melbourne. In this hands-on role, you will craft physical props and sets for our video productions, offering full-time or part-time engagement.

As our Prop Maker, you will bring physical touch to our team, creating tangible connections between our content and viewers. Your dedication to craft and ability to turn virtual sets into real-world objects will enchant our audience and elevate our productions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and construct durable props/sets that bring digital worlds into the physical realm.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to understand project vision and requirements.
  • Utilize materials and techniques to create high-quality, visually impressive props/sets that are both functional and safe.
  • Manage time effectively to meet production deadlines, ensuring each prop/set is ready when needed.
  • Maintain an organized workspace, keeping inventory of materials and tools, and ordering supplies as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve prop/set-related issues during pre-production and on set.

You Will Need:

  • Proven experience as a Prop Maker/Set Designer, with a portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques and materials, adapting to various design styles and themes.
  • Excellent time-management skills, juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail and a problem-solving approach to design challenges.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment safely and effectively. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
