About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architectural Drafting Specialist to join our team at Business Nest. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality architectural drawings, plans, and technical documentation using CAD software (AutoCAD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed architectural drawings, plans, and technical documentation using CAD software, ensuring precision and adherence to specific requirements.
  • Evaluate designs and documents to ensure compliance with Australian Standards, codes of practice, and BCA/NCC, focusing on unique demands of restoration projects.
  • Verify measurements, resolve design issues, and assess feasibility for project construction.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, registers of drawings, and project records throughout all stages of the project.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders as required and maintain records.
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and project timelines by providing detailed drawings and material specifications.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, analyze potential technical challenges, and address them early in the design process.
  • Update and revise existing drawings based on project changes, site conditions, and client requests/requirements.
  • Participate in site inspections or surveys to collect data, verify conditions, or ensure design implementation aligns with plans.
  • Monitor changes to local planning schemes or regulatory requirements that might affect building design or compliance.

Requirements:

  • Formal qualifications in Construction or Architectural Design are mandatory.
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in a similar role is required.
  • Strong technical skills in design and drafting are essential.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving is necessary.
  • A strong work ethic with a commitment to high-quality outputs is expected.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is vital.
