
Aboriginal Health Leader

This is a strategic leadership position that requires an experienced professional to drive the implementation of AMSANT's vision and goals.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the Board and member services to support the growth and development of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) in the NT, strengthening the sector.
- Represent AMSANT in key forums regionally and nationally.
- Lead lobbying and advocacy efforts to influence policy and improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people in the NT.
- Manage dedicated teams effectively.
- Support the Board to ensure strong governance standards are maintained and continuously improved.
This role demands high-level cultural competence, strategic thinking, negotiation, communication, organisation, and financial acumen. Regular travel is expected.
Essential Qualifications- Senior management experience within an organisation serving diverse stakeholders.
- Cultural awareness and understanding.
- Strategic planning skills.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organisation and time management.
- Financial management and budgeting.
A comprehensive understanding of Aboriginal health issues and policies is essential. Other important qualities include collaboration, influencing, and evidence of capacity to demonstrate these skills.
The ideal candidate should possess the necessary qualifications and be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
