MEP Cost Engineer Role

At WT Partnership, we are seeking an experienced MEP Cost Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. As a key member of our M&E business, you will work on a wide range of build, construction, and property projects, providing cost estimates and analysis for engineering services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates for engineering services on projects.
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis and provide detailed estimates for materials, labor, and other expenses.
  • Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, advising project managers on cost-saving measures and cost-effective solutions.
  • Evaluate and analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts, ensuring compliance with all requirements and regulations.
  • Analyze and review contractor bids to ensure accuracy and completeness, preparing bills of quantities for materials, labor, and equipment required for the project.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the project meets all requirements and regulations, managing contracts and agreements with suppliers and contractors.
  • Monitor and report on project expenses, ensuring proper financial management and providing regular updates to senior management and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cost engineering or construction cost estimating.
  • Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of engineering materials, building regulations, and construction methods.
  • Experience with estimating software and tools, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
