About the Role

Global Skilled Employment Services is seeking a highly skilled Executive Chef to join their kitchen team in a restaurant. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy kitchen environment and be able to train apprentices.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • ">
  • Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality and safety standards are met;">
  • Regulating the temperature of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment to ensure optimal performance;">
  • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to meet customer demands;">
  • Seasoning food during cooking to enhance flavors and presentation;">
  • Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes to create visually appealing dishes;">
  • Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain freshness and quality;">
  • Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, gluten-free, or dairy-free options;">
  • May plan menus and estimate food requirements to ensure efficient inventory management;">
  • May train other kitchen staff and apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge;">

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • ">
  • AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher equivalent qualification;">
  • At least 3 years recent relevant work experience in a high-volume kitchen environment;">
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and customers;">
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment is essential to success in this position;">
