We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Rail Maintenance Support Officer to join our team at Trojan Rail. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our client's services.
Key Responsibilities- Shift Work: Work a 4-on, 4-off roster, covering both day and night shifts (12-hour shifts from 6 am to 6 pm or 6 pm to 6 am).
- Inspections and Checks: Conduct full train examinations and roll-by inspections to ensure locomotives and rolling stock are safe for travel.
- Maintenance Support: Assist with routine maintenance, scheduled maintenance, and emergency repairs of wagons.
- Equipment Operation and Shunting: Safely operate tools, machinery, and mobile equipment, and perform shunting duties to marshal wagons as needed.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in regular safety briefings to maintain a secure working environment.
- Record Keeping: Accurately maintain all necessary records and documentation.
- Liaison and Coordination: Collaborate with planners, contractors, supervisors, and team members to coordinate wagon movements and resolve any wagon-related issues.
To excel in this role, you should have a strong commitment to safety, mechanical aptitude, and a customer service mindset. We are seeking candidates who thrive both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications- Licences: A current Driver's Licence is required.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and general literacy are necessary for completing daily tasks.
- Personal Attributes: A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability to new challenges are essential.
