Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Media Officer and Writer to join our dynamic national environmental organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and passionate environmentalist to contribute to our mission of tackling invasive species-led extinctions and destruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive media strategy to drive traditional media coverage and communications across the organisation.
  • Write compelling content for all communication channels, including media releases, website copy, emails, and campaign materials.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Development Director and the Advocacy Director to develop content and deliver the media strategy.
  • Ensure brand guidelines are followed across all communications and manage a resource library for photos, videos, spokes, and stories.
  • Measure and report on performance to inform future communications strategies.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with a 2-year contract. The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a senior media and communications role. The salary range is $90,000-$105,000 plus super. In addition to 4 weeks annual leave, benefits include 1 week paid field work or study leave, 3 days leave between Christmas and New Year's, flexible working hours, and reduced FBT salary packaging.
