Job Title: Substitute Teacher

**Job Description:**

The role of a substitute teacher is to maintain a safe and positive learning environment for students in the absence of the regular teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement lesson plans that motivate students to learn and participate;
  • Organize students for effective instruction;
  • Complete a report form for the regular classroom teacher;
  • Collect and store students' papers in the regular teacher's desk;
  • Support school regulations and policies;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the division head or teacher;

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree or postgraduate work in subject matter and/or counseling;
  • Teaching and/or administration experience in an independent school environment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills;

**Other Requirements:**

  • Work in a highly stressful environment dealing with various challenges, deadlines, and diverse contacts;
  • May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time;

  • Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment;
  • Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
