After School Caregiver

We are seeking a qualified and experienced caregiver to join our family as an after school helper. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for picking up our 5-year-old child from preschool in Manly at 3:00 pm, and then walking the other two children home from school who walk on their own. The caregiver will also assist with homework, reading, and getting the children ready for bed, including helping with showers, pyjamas, etc. In addition, they will heat up and serve dinner, which will mostly be pre-cooked.

The successful candidate will be someone who is reliable, good with kids, and able to juggle the needs of three children at once. They will also need to be happy to take charge when needed, play with the children, and help out with the usual after-school activities like tidying up. It's essential that the caregiver is calm, patient, and genuinely enjoys spending time with children. We're looking for someone who can make the afternoons feel easy and enjoyable for our kids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pick up our 5-year-old from preschool in Manly at 3:00 pm
  • Walk the children to nearby after-school activities (all within 300m of home)
  • Assist with homework and reading
  • Get the children ready for bed, including helping with showers, pyjamas, etc.
  • Heat up and serve dinner
  • Light tidying up - e.g. unpacking school bags with the kids, putting dishes in the dishwasher

Requirements:

  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Good with kids, especially those aged 5-10
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks at once
  • Calm and patient
  • Happy to take charge when needed
