Research and Engagement Position

This is a capacity-building appointment designed to strengthen the visibility and reach of music and arts research, and to create new opportunities for partnership and collaboration.

About the Role
  • The Senior Research and Engagement Fellow will develop a research strategy in music and health that responds to community needs.
  • They will lead engagement initiatives connecting new communities with the Conservatorium, including through programs, short courses, and professional development.
  • The successful candidate will build partnerships with First Nations communities, health professionals, educators, and regional partners.
  • They will document and share the impact of music and the arts in creating healthier, more connected communities.
About You
  • We are seeking an established or emerging leader in music (or the performing arts more broadly), able to move fluidly between research, practice, and community engagement.
  • A strong track record in community-engaged, applied, or socially impactful music scholarship is required.
  • Skills in creating engaging, responsive learning experiences are essential.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive practice are necessary.
  • Ability to set engagement priorities, foster collaborations, and generate measurable impact is key.
Key Responsibilities

Selection Criteria

You bring a doctoral qualification in music (or related field), along with a strong academic profile and relevant experience in community engagement.
