Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Develop and implement strategies to engage and develop team members' skills and competencies.
    • Develop and recommend construction engineering staffing plans and prepare employee requisitions.
    • Direct construction engineering activities, ensuring compliance with procedures and quality standards.
  • Work Planning and Packaging
    • Develop and implement work plans and packages to ensure efficient and safe execution of construction activities.
  • Material Management
    • Develop and implement material management strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
  • Quantities
    • Develop and implement quantity take-off, control, reporting, and forecasting processes to ensure accurate and timely delivery of construction activities.
  • Safety and Quality Control
    • Develop and implement safety and quality control strategies to ensure zero accidents and compliance with quality standards.
    • Review and approve inspection test plans and coordinate reviews of subcontractor submittals.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including TEAMWorks, Infoworks or Aconex, BPS or DSCS, PTR or Unifier, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects.
    • Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings and specifications.
    • Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to resolve design issues with subordinates, other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client.
    • Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000.
    • Construction field experience, with a focus on civil/site design of heavy industrial-type facilities.
    • Advanced knowledge of field engineering processes, construction, safety, health, and environmental related disciplines, and experience working in a similar capacity on previous projects.
    • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
