Opportunity Overview

A new opportunity has arisen to lead the Human Factors function as the Human Factors Director for a leading organization in the East Coast region. As a key member of the executive team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of the Human Factors function and ensuring its alignment with the organization's overall goals.

About the Role

The Human Factors Director will be responsible for leading a team of Human Factors specialists and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality Human Factors solutions. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing Human Factors strategies to drive business outcomes and improve customer experience.
  • Leading the Human Factors team to deliver high-quality solutions and ensure effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in Human Factors and applying this knowledge to drive business outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Systems Engineering, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding or experience in Human Factors Engineering, Human Factors Integration, Human Factors Assurance, Systems Engineering, and Change Management.
  • Knowledge of relevant Human Factors standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (OHS Act), and Rail Safety National Law and Regulations.
  • Minimum of years' experience in the application of Human Factors methods and knowledge in one or more of the following industries: rail, aviation, resources, energy, mining, and/or resources.
  • Experience in delivering and influencing Human Factors and change activities to meet project and business outcomes, particularly in the delivery phase of Human Factors and systems integration activities and with respect to requirements management.
  • Proven strong team leadership capabilities.
