About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative individual to join our team as a Wellbeing Lead Counsellor. As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in promoting mental health and wellbeing initiatives across our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with schools and other professionals to develop and implement school-wide mental health and wellbeing initiatives
  • Engage with families to support their child's mental health and wellbeing, and strengthen home-school partnerships
  • Provide individual and group counselling to students, as well as work with schools and other parts of our organisation to identify and implement reasonable adjustments
  • Liaise with external agencies and professionals to enhance student support and wellbeing
  • Support leaders and staff to respond effectively to student welfare and wellbeing
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to design personalised plans for students
About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people, as well as experience in counselling children and young people using evidence-based interventions.

You will also have a minimum of three years' experience as a registered Psychologist or Social Worker, and the capacity to make a significant contribution to matters related to student welfare and wellbeing.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate evidence-based, professionally informed judgement in dealing with sensitive issues, and the ability to engage students, parents and teachers in the counselling process.

Qualifications and Accreditations
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or general registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance
