The Opportunity

Randstad is currently seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join their team within the local government sector. As a senior member, this role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the success of ongoing and upcoming projects by leading the development and implementation of procurement plans and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing end-to-end procurement processes and contracts for a range of council projects and programs.
  • Providing sound advice on tender evaluation plans and the management of high-risk and complex procurement processes.
  • Building and developing relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Providing training to ensure compliance with contracts, tenders, and procurement policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Refining and improving existing systems and procedures to ensure best practice.
  • Developing and presenting reports to management to inform decision-making.

Selection Criteria

  • A background in procurement, contract management, commercial finance, legal, or similar.
  • Experience working in local council, government, public sector statutory authorities, or corporations, utilities, or similar is desired.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and engagement abilities, as well as high-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • An ability and willingness to mentor others.

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per annum
