We are seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of School Support Officer, contributing to the wellbeing and success of students in our school community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the pastoral care leader to promote student wellbeing, providing support and opportunities for students to succeed.
  • This involves undertaking various tasks to enhance student wellbeing and academic performance, as well as collaborating with the school community to deliver evidence-based interventions and programs.
  • A key aspect of this role is establishing support networks for students with staff, parents, and local agencies, ensuring students have access to necessary resources and guidance.
  • The School Support Officer will also be responsible for supporting data collection processes, evaluating and providing feedback on school-based wellbeing programs.
Requirements:
  • Candidates must be committed to the Catholic School's mission and values, demonstrating a strong sense of purpose and direction.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues is essential, requiring a high level of emotional intelligence and maturity.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role is desirable, but not mandatory; what is crucial is a proven track record of delivering effective outcomes in a collaborative environment.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills are vital for success in this position, enabling the School Support Officer to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment is also essential, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and a growth mindset.

In terms of qualifications, we are looking for candidates with a Certificate IV in an appropriate discipline, including competencies in mental health and pastoral care. A Working with Children Clearance is also required prior to commencement.
