About The Project

We're delivering the Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro Project in partnership with McConnell Dowell (Joint Venture). This innovative project involves converting a disused gold mine into a world-first pumped storage hydroelectric power generation facility in Far North Queensland.

The project involves converting two existing mine pits into reservoirs. We'll construct significant underground infrastructure, including a large powerhouse cavern, waterway shafts, and tunnels to transfer water between reservoirs. This will generate power during peak periods and return water to the upper reservoir during off-peak periods.

About The Role

We're seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our construction delivery team. Initially based in Kidston QLD.

  • Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates, including Project Engineers and/or Cost/Planning Engineers.
  • Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications.
  • Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction, and specifications against site plans and conditions. Arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
  • Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, program workloads, and provide technical and administrative guidance to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
  • Ensure project engineering completion is on time and within budget. Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used, and retain progress drawings.

You Will Need

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in delivering projects from beginning to completion.
  • Experience in delivering complex infrastructure, including electrical-based commercial works.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
