About the Role

McConnell Dowell Constructors is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join the Mardie Salt Potash Marine Structure project. This opportunity allows you to contribute to minimizing the construction footprint and preserving the region's marine and coastal flora and fauna.

This project serves as a model for coastal protection during major marine construction.

About the Project

The Mardie Salt and Potash Project is located on the north-west coast of Western Australia, approximately 135km south-west of Karratha. It involves designing, fabricating, supplying, constructing, installing, and commissioning Port Marine Structures with an export capacity of 3,300 tons per hour of industrial-grade salt and sulphate of potash.

Key Responsibilities
  • Empower and motivate the workforce to proactively manage their interface with the natural and built environments.
  • Review, instruct, record, and report all environmental matters related to any given works area of the project.
  • Be responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and providing advice on construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental obligations in accordance with the Construction Environmental Management Plan.
  • Ensure that planned controls for environmental aspects of works areas are met in accordance with Work Method Statements (WMS), the project CEMP or Environmental Protection Instructions (EPIs).
  • Report to the HS&E Manager any potential or actual environmental aspect or impact.
About You
  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental management or a related field.
  • Experience in environmental monitoring, including noise, dust, and vibration.
  • Marine Mammal Observer Training.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to form strong relationships with stakeholders to align on key objectives.
