Job Title: Machinist Specialist

The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to provide manufacturing, modification, and maintenance support for wheelchair and seating systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, fitting, fault-finding, repairing, performing safety checks, and ensuring quality assurance of light mechanical and electrical equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture, modify, and maintain wheelchair and seating systems to facilitate rehabilitation and discharge.
  • Construct, fit, fault-find, repair, perform safety checks, and ensure quality assurance on light mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team including Rehabilitation Engineers, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and other Technical Officers.
  • Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and a willingness to work with patients.

Requirements:

  • Relevant post-secondary qualification (AQF 3 or similar).
  • Competence in constructing, fitting, fault finding, repair, safety checking, and QA of light mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to interact with patients and work within a multidisciplinary team.
