Statistician in Medical Research

We are seeking a highly skilled Statistician to lead our medical research initiatives.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing statistical strategies for clinical studies, ensuring data quality and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to clinical study design, including protocol development and data collection planning.
  • Oversee all statistical deliverables, including sample size calculation, randomization specifications, and statistical methodology.
  • Collaborate with external groups, such as CROs and data monitoring committees (DMCs).
  • Work with programming teams to define and document derived variables, quality control plans, and statistical analysis protocols.
  • Perform and coordinate statistical analyses, reviewing and examining data distributions and properties.
  • Supervise the execution of statistical analyses according to Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs), preparing statistical methods and providing insights into interpretation and discussion of results sections.
  • Propose and perform exploratory data analyses, ad-hoc analyses, and transparency and disclosure deliverables.
  • Plan and track study/project activities and timelines, promoting teamwork, quality, operational efficiency, and innovation.
Requirements:
  • PhD/MS in statistics or a related field with at least 5 years of pharmaceutical experience.
  • Good knowledge of pharmaceutical clinical development, late phase, and/or post-marketing activities.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of advanced statistical concepts and techniques.
  • Ability to work in departmental computing environments, perform advanced statistical analyses using SAS and possibly other languages (e.g., R).
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders and interacting with cross-functional teams.

Applicants must be located in Canada or Europe. Previous experience leading medical affairs clinical studies is required.
