Academic Geographer

CQUniversity seeks a dedicated academic to join its School of Education and the Arts as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Geography. As a core team member, you will contribute to teaching, research, and service activities, developing and delivering foundation and profession-focused units, engaging in quality research and scholarly activity, and supporting students across undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for innovative teaching, a collaborative approach to research and scholarship, and the ability to build strong connections with students, colleagues, industry, and community partners. You will be responsible for leading curriculum development, course coordination, research projects, or supervision responsibilities, depending on your experience.

• Develop and teach foundation and profession-focused units in Geography
• Engage in high-quality research and scholarly activity
• Support students across undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels
• Contribute to leadership in curriculum development, course coordination, research projects, or supervision responsibilities

• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in Geography, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline
• Teaching qualification or willingness to complete a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching / Education
• Experience teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students using multi-modal delivery strategies
• Proven research record with recent publications and ability to contribute to the School's research program
• Possession of a PhD in Geography, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline (for Senior Lecturer position)
• Experience in team leadership and mentoring junior academic staff (for Senior Lecturer position)
