We are seeking a skilled Care Specialist to join our team at the Forensic Disability Clinical Services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive risk assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions to support clients with cognitive disabilities who are involved in the criminal justice system.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of client risk and treatment needs to develop and implement effective treatment plans
- Deliver individualized and group-based programs, utilizing a range of behavioral and therapeutic techniques to promote positive change
- Collaborate closely with other professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and disability support workers, to ensure a holistic approach to care
- Prepare comprehensive reports and updates to inform stakeholders and improve service delivery
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Tertiary Degree level qualification in an appropriate Health Science field, such as Psychology, Social Welfare Practice, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, or Psychiatric Nursing
- Demonstrated expertise in specialized forensic assessment and report writing, as well as experience in counseling skills, behavior modification interventions, and cognitive behavioral therapy
- An understanding of the Victorian Criminal Justice System and the Disability Act 2006, with experience working within a legislative framework
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner
You will also possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders, as well as a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
