About the Role

The Environmental Division at ALS operates a modern laboratory in Brisbane (Stafford) equipped with the latest analytical technology. We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team in the Inorganics department. This is a full-time day shift position working from 6.00 am to 2.15 pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and analysis of soil, water, and sediment samples using various techniques such as weighing, digesting, titrating, or solvent extraction.
  • Ensuring that preparation and analytical procedures are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions.
  • Organising tasks to maximise daily efficiencies and completing all tasks within the set timeframe and analysis standard.
  • Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviour.

The Essentials

  • A genuine interest in the Science industry.
  • TAFE qualifications desirable but not essential.
  • A desire to work in a high-throughput, client-focused environment with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills.
  • Dedication to good laboratory practices with regard to quality of results and health and safety.
  • Flexibility to work public holidays and weekend shifts if required.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained in other sections of the laboratory.
  • Dedication to go the extra mile, be solutions-driven and ensure there is no compromise on quality.
