Job Overview

We are currently seeking a Clinical Healthcare Specialist - Sexual Health to join our team at the Clarence Correctional Centre in New South Wales, Australia. This role will involve providing holistic care for custodial patients with sexual health issues, educating them on harm reduction strategies, and offering peer support and knowledge building opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive care for sexual health issues, aiming to minimize long-term complications and improve patients' quality of life.
  • Conducting patient education sessions on sexual health topics and harm reduction strategies.
  • Offering peer support and knowledge building opportunities to enhance colleagues' understanding of sexual health issues.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications in sexual health or working towards the same.
  • Experience in a primary health or acute setting or sexual health-related role, with two years full-time equivalent experience.
  • Qualifications and experience in conducting health assessments and case management of patients' healthcare delivery.
  • Cultural awareness and ability to work with people from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
