Pathology Training Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and passionate veterinarian to participate in an intensive training program leading to specialist examination in clinical pathology.

Program Details
  • The training will commence in mid-August and be based in either Australia, New Zealand or Japan.
  • Training under the alternate pathway of ACVP accreditation is undertaken over four years, involving a mixture of case directed learning, supported study and laboratory duties.
  • You will have access to many pathologists across Japan, Australia & New Zealand and globally to provide depth and breadth of knowledge and extensive mentor support locally and remotely.
Key Responsibilities
  • During the first 12 months, you will undergo general pathology training with exposure to anatomic and clinical pathology.
  • After approximately two years, you will undertake phase I of the ACVP examination.
  • After four years, you will be eligible to sit Phase II of the ACVP examination in veterinary clinical pathology.
  • Your key duties will include laboratory benchwork, haematology film reviews, scientist support, interpretation of biochemistry, serology, urinalysis, endocrinology, customer phone support, cytology, histopathology, and gross tissue evaluation.
  • Additionally, you will attend and present at conferences, be an active part of the pathology community, and prepare research or case publications.
Requirements
  • You must be a motivated and passionate veterinarian with at least 18 months of clinical experience, eligible to work and register as a veterinarian in Australia, New Zealand or Japan.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong ability to develop relationships with veterinary clients, and an outstanding work ethic are essential.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Japanese is a requirement.
