Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that meet the needs of various stakeholders and adhere to local accounting standards. Ensure all necessary information is prepared for internal and statutory audits, while collaborating with the Board's Audit Committee and internal/external auditors as required.
  • Design and implement financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and related commercial processes. Possess in-depth knowledge of various tools and controls, including periodic closing processes, order-to-cash, and procurement-to-pay.
  • Lead the development, consolidation, analysis, and reporting of business plans and risk management strategies for the country, providing financial guidance and counsel to the organization. Deliver corporate-level reporting packages in adherence to the monthly corporate closing timetable. Prepare variation reports on revenues, pricing, profitability compared to financial plans, including understanding key variances, their impact on overall business performance, and potential risks. Recommend mitigation options to ensure business success.
  • Provide meaningful, data-driven insights to inform senior management decisions on business performance, potential opportunities, and exposures, and offer recommendations on their implications for the business.
  • Execute Abbott's global accounting principles and ensure the effective application of the company's financial control framework to business finances, including risk assessment, performing key control activities, training, and testing where applicable.
  • Ensure global compliance with customs, antiboycott, embargo, and trade control laws, regulations, and rules in countries where Abbott imports or exports goods, software, or technology according to Abbott's Code of Conduct.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Regulatory teams to ensure optimal inventory levels in the country and with distributors, and prevent business disruptions or distressed inventory.
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing team and support ad-hoc projects.
