About the Job

We are seeking a Hospital Food and Nutrition Service Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality nutrition and food service to patients/clients of the hospital.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. You will also need to be able to follow established procedures and guidelines, with a strong focus on maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleanliness duties in allocated areas including ward kitchens, main kitchen, store rooms and cold and freezer rooms.
  • Ability to use technological devices to monitor work processes and workflow.
  • Participation in mandatory training and other training programs for Food Services staff, including but not limited to nutrition, food safety, personal hygiene, use of technology and service behaviour.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies.
  • Availability to work varying shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
