Job Title: Academic Support Associate

About the Opportunity

We are seeking compassionate and proactive educational assistants to work in mainstream primary schools supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing individualized support to students with mild to moderate SEN within a mainstream classroom environment
  • Collaborating closely with class teachers and SENDCo to implement tailored support plans
  • Delivering targeted literacy and numeracy interventions through small group sessions
  • Encouraging positive behavior and emotional regulation through consistent and nurturing approaches
  • Supporting students' development of confidence, independence, and social skills
  • Assisting students with sensory or communication needs, including PECS, visual timetables, and Makaton
  • Ongoing support may also involve assisting with personal care when necessary
Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS check required
  • Two professional references are mandatory for clearance purposes
  • Teaching Assistant – Level 2 qualification or similar
