Job Title

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Parks Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Open Spaces division, you will be responsible for maintaining Council's parks and facilities in excellent condition.

Your role will involve operating small plant and equipment, including front deck or mid mount mowers, to ensure the upkeep of gardens, sportsgrounds, playgrounds, and Council buildings. You will also provide positive and courteous service to the public and other workers.

  • Operating small plant and equipment, such as front deck or mid mount mowers
  • Maintaining Council's parks and facilities, including gardens, sportsgrounds, playgrounds, and Council buildings
  • Providing excellent customer service and interacting with the community
  • Contributing to the overall maintenance of Council's parks and facilities
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in park maintenance and industry best-practice
  • Proven ability to operate parks maintenance related small plant and equipment
  • Competency in the use of front deck or mid mount mowers
  • Able to interact positively with the public and other workers
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write clearly and neatly when completing necessary paperwork
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team with strong interpersonal skills
  • Hold a current 'ChemCert' (Chemical Handling) qualification
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Possess a current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Hold a current General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (white card)

Position Information: Three permanent full-time positions are available, working 70 hours per fortnight with access to a 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off arrangement.

Salary Information: Salary is based on the Cumberland Salary Structure, Grade 4, with a salary range of $51,199 to $58,879 per annum, plus superannuation.
