Job Title: Events and Ceremonies Managers

The Events and Ceremonies team plays a pivotal role in ensuring the coordination and delivery of the Australian War Memorial's commemorative program. This includes the annual Anzac Day and Remembrance Day national commemorations, minor ceremonies, corporate events, and launches, as well as official visits.

Supporting the Senior Manager, these positions are responsible for overseeing the Events and Ceremonies team and their day-to-day operations. This involves coordinating and delivering the Memorial's annual commemorative program, events, and official visits, with a high level of initiative and sound judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Events and Ceremonies team, supporting them in their delivery of allocated projects and tasks.
  • Assist in the high-level planning of major projects such as Anzac Day and Remembrance Day, including records management, procurement, contractor documentation, and operational documentation.
  • Provide detailed technical advice in relation to event and ceremonial projects, and assist in strategic planning and effective risk assessment and management.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver the work program as outlined, keeping the Senior Manager informed of their status and that of their allocated team.

Please Note:

  1. The Managers will be required to commit to working outside of core business hours, on weekends, public and school holidays as needed, and during peak periods in March, April, October, and November for the preparations and delivery of the Anzac and Remembrance Day national commemorations.
  2. There is a requirement for working outdoors and undertaking manual handling.
